Village Voice Brooklyn Pour: 66 Craft Brewers In One Place!
It’s officially time for beer- after all, Octoberfest is the biggest festival for the beverage, and it’s an ideal time to pop open a pint and enjoy the autumn the way Mother Nature surely intended. Because pretty much everything in fall is a little better with an ale or lager, from Halloweeen to the chore of preparing for winter, or simply enjoying the last few days of nice weather.
But ultimately, drinking is a great social occasion, and there’s no better way to do it than en masse. You might not be able to make it to Munich, but you can certainly join us in Fort Greene next weekend, at the Village Voice third annual Brooklyn Pour Craft Beer Festival. Over 66 brewers are confirmed to be attending, pouring over 100 beers, and you can try them all on Saturday, October 12th at Skylight One Hanson.
VIP tickets are sold out, but general admission passes are still available for a limited time, and grant access for three hours of social lubrication from 3PM to 6PM. You also get a complimentary souvenir tasting glass, and don’t fret- there will be plenty of food options for those who might come with an empty stomach (or simply get hungry during the event). Cuban sandwiches from Yayo’s, Jarlsberg Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, and hot dogs from Los Perros Locos should compliment the beverage options.
And what a list it is, running from A to Z… or W at least- Asahi to Weyerbacher, with favorites like Sam Adams and Goose Island, Chelsea, Brooklyn, Boulder, Bronx, Rockaway and Lagunitas, and plenty of other breweries that don’t use geography in their names. There are even lectures, including one on how to photograph your beer- and why yes, there’s even a hashtag for such a passion, #beertography. The venue is lovely, an art deco masterpiece and a former bank. Join us for a drink in the vault, next weekend- tickets cost $50 and are available directly!
