Banff Mountain Film Festival Sleds Into NYC
The Banff Mountain Film Festival is coming to New York City once again, featuring four days of the best film-making that adventurers and sportspeople have done on- and off- the mountains. Focusing on adventure sports that get the adrenaline pumping, the short films that the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour presents offer a dynamic, intimate, often unique and always awe-inspiring insight into the lives of ordinary and extra-ordinary people who live and breathe the outdoor air.
Whether your passion is skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, mountaineering, backpacking or simply armchair exploring, this is an event not to be missed. Last year’s films included shorts featuring ‘Sketchy’ Andy, the world-renowned slackliner who performed with Madonna in last year’s Superbowl, a city-girl’s weekend passion for white water canoeing, as well as a moving feature-length piece following one backpacker and his dog walking the journey of Genghis Khan from Mongolia to Europe.
